\n“Throwing Balls in the Air\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Encage\u2019 is an overlaid structure that parasites on the walls of an Austro-Hungarian fortress.\u00a0\u00a0 The building was originally constructed as a military stronghold for surveillance and protection, in 1864. The work embraces and passes through embrasures: the openings in located in the parapets of the structure. \u2018Encage\u2019 blocks these embrasures with metal meshes that are secured to the wall through the forces of tension; the position of the overall structure is maintained by strong cables that sustain various wooden beams on the other sides of the wall. The symbolic connotation of the pole emphasises on the ongoing process of border fortification.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Academiae press release<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The first edition of ACADEMI\u00c6, a biennial event entirely dedicated to academy, international art school and university students, will open on July 1, 2016 in the Fortezza \/ Franzensfeste area. The first edition, curated by Christiane Rekade and Francesca Boenzi, sees the participation of 35 emerging artists, selected in collaboration with 11 artists working as professors in as many European academies.
